Laura Petersen and the Old Souls are a genre-defying group from Milwaukee, WI, blending the heartfelt songwriting of Laura Petersen with the versatile musicianship and production talents of Elliot Killian.
Their music draws from Americana’s rich tapestry, seamlessly incorporating elements of country, bluegrass, swamp rock, and even heavy metal to create a sound that is uniquely their own.
Their full-band live performances captivate audiences with rich three-part harmonies, brought to life by Annie Buege (keys, vocals), Dave Buege (bass, vocals), and Andrew J. Lynch (drums)—all of whom have also contributed their talents as featured musicians on recordings.

Laura Petersen is a singer-songwriter with an evocative voice and poignant lyrics. Her debut studio album, Breaking the Hollow, was recorded in Nashville, TN, and her song “Winter Blows” was reviewed by renowned songwriter Jason Blume (BMI) on Michael Laskow’s independent A&R show TAXI TV. In 2019, Laura was nominated for “Singer/Songwriter of the Year” by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI), cementing her reputation as a powerful storyteller. She hopes her music encourages people to take a deeper look into the meaning of their lives.
